I had to make a couple of shaker cards, and I finally tried a simple watercolor background.
I was inspired by this card on Torico's blog. I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil for the tiny hearts. The shaker part is a little shallow, but it was a PITA to put the foam tape on the back of that die cut piece so one layer was all it got. It still shakes and I didn't add too many shaker bits. I wanted to use fun foam for the backing, but my brain just went blank since it involved 2 separate dies.
I love this stamp set from My Favorite Things! It's called Distressed Patterns. I added a little nest of silver thread behind the heart on this one.
Silver washi tape and some glittery hearts here. The large hearts are left over from the shaker card above. I actually made 2 shakers but apparently neglected to take a photo of the other one.
This heart die from Concord & 9th is fabulous. I die cut it from white and also from some cardstock on which I had done a little ink blending with Distress Inks, then added the colored pieces back into the die cut.
I may have gotten a little over-enthusiastic with the stamps on these 2 :-)
The heart is die cut from a piece of cardstock that I covered with some washi tape strips.
Happy Valentine's Day!
